Micro piezoelectric air pump: microfluidics for precise manoeuvring

Micro piezoelectric air pumps, with their excellent performance and significant application advantages, play an increasingly important role in the field of modern medical devices. It utilizes sophisticated microfluidic technology to achieve precise manipulation of fluids, which is essential for accurate measurement of devices such as sphygmomanometers.

After more than 20 years of ultrasonic technology deep ploughing, AUDIOWELL has accumulated profound experience in the mass production of the first generation of micro piezoelectric air pumps and miniature piezoelectric fans. The company continues to promote technological innovation, and has successfully developed a new generation of micro piezoelectric air pumps, which incorporate ultrasonic technology and have excellent high-flow output and high pressure-carrying performance.

Working principle

The operation of the micro piezoelectric air pump is based on its core components: piezoelectric oscillator, pump valve and pump body, with no internal motor or rotating parts, but rather a piezoelectric oscillator as the power source. Under the excitation of alternating current (AC), the piezoelectric oscillator under the action of electric field undergoes radial expansion and contraction, which drives the elastic substrate to bend accordingly, thus regulating the volume of the pump cavity. When the piezoelectric oscillator elongation, the pump chamber volume expansion, internal pressure reduction, attracting gas into; Conversely, when the piezoelectric oscillator contraction, the pump chamber volume reduction, internal pressure rise, promote gas discharge. This process is repeated, to achieve a smooth, continuous directional flow of gas.

Output pressure ≥40KPa

Micro piezoelectric air pumpp output pressure ≥ 40 kPa, the following P-Q characteristic chart for the measured records, under the pressure load of 40 kPa, the gas flow maintains a positive output; at the same time, by the piezoelectric vibration of large radial vibration characteristics of the oscillator, the output flow of the product is large.

Miniaturised design

By integrating the drive source, transmission part and pump body into one compact unit, the integrated design of the product makes the pump body lighter, and its miniaturisation (21x19x3.2mm) and lightweight (3.5g) perfectly fits the development direction of the sphygmomanometer in pursuit of portability and compact design.

Low power consumption, no noise

Compared with traditional air pumps, the micro piezoelectric air pump has higher electromechanical conversion efficiency and lower driving voltage, and its power consumption is only 1.5 watts, which helps to improve the endurance of the whole equipment. There is no motor or rotating parts inside the product, and the resonant frequency is 24.5±2KHz (>20 kHz, belonging to the ultrasonic frequency band), which is beyond the threshold of human hearing, and the noise generated is controlled at less than 40dB, which is hardly audible.
